Jewelry Making

A women-led accessory business has taken shape in Ongutoi and CORE Uganda has worked with the group with seed funding and finding a market for their products. The group use both high-quality beads they make out of paper themselves and pre-made plastic beads to create unique, locally-influenced jewelry and bags. This initiative has empowered the group’s members with purpose and fair wage work, and a portion of the profits go directly to support CORE Uganda’s activities in the community.
